Remodel Update #1

*Update from the future: To ease the pain of anyone wanting to view all the pictures, here are the future links to updates…

Okay, not exactly breaking, but here are the pictures from the house as of late.

Andrew moved down to Arizona on Monday, so its pretty freakin awesome. He has been making major progress while Bryan and myself have been unable to be there. Its moving things along much more quickly and I’m very glad he made it down as I dont even want to think about how long it would have taken us to finish.

Right now we have the first layer of mud down. Part of it is sanded and we have started applying the second layer of mud to certain parts. The sanding is probably the hardest part, just because its easy to miss a part and its hard on the arms.

And for the pictures.

Lifesaver specially imported from Utah.

The living room, with a bit of the bathroom.

Front door/kitchen.
Ceiling shot…not really much more than the last pic.

Kitchen.

Kitchen part deux.
Where the firealarm used to be. We
dont plan on any fires
so we removed it.

Yup, thats it. Come back next time to see pictures that probably will look exactly the same, but will actually be different. The idea being that eventually i’ll have pictures of it painted, and then pictures with the furniture. And at that point you will appreciate the work put into this project by everyone involved; those being Bryan, Whitney (interior design work), Andrew, and myself (a little).

house update

August 26, 2006 no comments

Work is going along nicely. I have the ceilings all removed of the dreaded popcorn texture. The living room still needs to be sanded though.

I took apart the toilet today. It was interesting, i’ve never taken apart a toilet.

I also removed alot of crap that needs to not be there for the floating. Mainly today consisted of sweeping the floors up of pop-corn; and decluttering the walls.

I have some pictures.

Update of the herd.

Smelly cow

It just got worse. I dont know if she is a pot-head or what. But she sure does have the munchies. All day “crunch …. *belated pause* …. crunch …. *belated pause* …. crunch”. I should probably be glad she is closing her mouth. Which is contrary to the last post on this subject.

Today for lunch I was attacked (from over the top of the cube) by the foul stench of her meal. I realise we are all entitled to our own opinion. But what would a person be required to go through in order for them to percieve such a gross smelling meal to be good?

Its beyond me. Perhaps being captivated under a chicken shed for the duration of ones childhood would bring such judgement to the smelling senses.

And the noise. The original complaint from myself. The noise is aweful. Always some sort of crunching, chewing or swathing going on. It grinds at my ears as if she were over here in my cube, chewed-up item in hand, forcing it into my ear. I am no volunteer for this activity. Its probably that whole patience thing. I guess I need more of it or something.

Or could just listen to music…

Cow. Loud, loud cow.

Cow. Loud, loud cow.

I have the pleasure today of listening to the whimpering sounds of a cow. No, thats not the cow that is whimpering. Its me, in the corner of my cubicle. I am forced this day, to sit within range of my neighbors pummeling, lip-smacking sounds. Actually Im just using pretty words, its this way every day. Okay, Ill admit, this is probably worse than normal, but its pretty bad today. Which inspired me to vent my frustrations in this medium.

I wish there were some way, that I could politely bring to my neighbors attention, this offense. Perhaps I should request a meeting with her mom. Then promptly slap her for her irresponsible actions as a parent. Every parent should teach their children common manners. The specific one I am interested in at this moment; chewing with your mouth closed!

Now, perhaps I would be in error if I were to do this. Technically my neighbor is not chewing, but rather, sucking awkwardly on whatever it is thats caught in her mouth. Id like to think its a Jolly Rancher or something. But perhaps its just the stapler. My guess is rendered useless in this situation. As the possible outcome of a child, raised in the conditions that she must have been raised in, are too many.

Maybe Im being too condescending on a matter that I should allow to slide. Maybe, but Im more inclined to believe that what goes around comes around. Thus, because in the past, Ive put effort into capping my own sound levels, I would get the same in return. Maybe she missed that part, maybe she was not employed at that time. I dont know.

Or maybe this is just a test leading up to the time that Ill be the one making sucking noises. You know, like in a hospital for example? Thats pretty much the only time I can think that might happen. Id of course have to be a quadriplegic, with no ability at all to use my arms or legs. As if I did have use of them, I certainly wouldnt pacify myself with a symphony of sucking noises.

I need a new layout

Yeah, so loading all these pictures sucks. I need a way to cut a post down so that you have to click the direct link to view the entire thing. Too bad blogger doesn’t do this. Its such a simple feature.

Pictures of ma house

August 20, 2006 no comments

Alright so here are the pictures of the house. Nothing grand yet as everything is under a bit of construction. I’m removing the acoustic ceiling (otherwise known as popcorn ceiling). I’m floating the walls, and painting it. It’s going to be very sexy. I’m looking forward to the finished product, which is unfortunately a bit off. As all this requires money (furniture), and time for fixing issues etc. Meanwhile its still an excellent living quarters.

This is where i’ll be getting naked.

This is a view from where i’ll be naked into the master bedroom.

The closet.

Guest bathroom.

Guest bedroom.

Back “yard”.

Another view of the backyard.

Kitchen.

Dining-room/kitchen view into the livingroom.

Another kitchen shot.

Do i really have to explain each picture?

Haircut

August 19, 2006 no comments

Yes I cut my hair. Its both a sad and happy thing. Its happy because its a good change. Its sad because I’ll always kinda miss long hair. *sadface*

As per tradition, here are the before and after shots.

The story is that I went in to get a radically different hair style. And while in there decided to change the plan and try a risky haircut. Well, I came out looking like a girl. I was not happy at all with the haircut. After getting home and defeminising the hair style a bit, I can say I’m happy with it. At the same time I do want to cut it even shorter. But I’ll leave it as it is for now and see how things go.

Thus far the girls seem to like it, which is one of the main reasons to get it cut in the first place. I need to procreate sometime. But I’m not sure if its a “I like new hair style” or more a “I like your hair style because its a step closer to what i really like”.

I suppose it does not matter, but regardless, here are the pictures.

…ok not yet, I’ll upload them in a bit.

Okay here are the pictures…(yeah i forgot to upload them until now)

House work

August 18, 2006 no comments

Last night i worked on my house. I have a few projects that must be done quickly. I hate acoustic/pop-corn ceilings. Thus i’ll be removing all of it from my house. The livingroom, bedrooms, and a closet are effected. I’ll also be floating the walls. To get a smooth texture for future painting projects. Its alot of work, and luckily Bryan has much experience in said activity.

I started at about 7:00pm-ish and finished at 10:17pm-ish. All i did was lay out the plastic on all the carpet. It was an interesting job trying to get the stuff from pulling on one part at weird angle. The next few weeks should be interesting…

I own a house

August 17, 2006 no comments

Yeah so today I received the keys for my house. After a time of confusion and signing papers that have little to do with sense. Its official that I am now a home-owner. I own a home…in that owe-your-soul-to-a-corporate-entity type of way.
